Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang has issued stern warning to cattle owners in Kumasi Metropolitan area, urging them to ensure that their cattles are not left astray on the streets of Kumasi.
Addressing the press in Kumasi on Monday, April 14, Mr. Boadi said any stray cattle found on the streets of Kumasi Metropolitan especially the stretch leading to Manhyia will be slaughtered and used to feed inmates of Kumasi Central Prison.

He said it is unacceptable for visitors who come to Kumasi to encounter astray cattles on the streets impeding smooth flow of traffic.
“If you are a cattle owner and your cattle stray and they are coming to the domain of KMA be rest assured that from May 1, those cattles will be killed and be given to the Kumasi Central Prison for feeding.
“Especially, the areas from the airport leading up to Manhyia. I cannot sit here and let visitors get to this beautiful airport and when they are driving to Manhyia, all that they encounter is faeces and cattles, this is unacceptable,” he declared.
Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi also issued two-week ultimatum to traders operating illegally on pavements and roadsides in the Adum area, warning that failure to comply will result in harsh penalties—including public lashings.

Starting Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) will commence a rigorous decongestion operation to restore order within the city’s central business district.
He emphasized that traders who continue to sell on pavements after the deadline will be dealt with severely.
“I have my own democratic military style, which I will be implementing. When we say leave this space and you don’t leave this space, and I get there, and you’re not lucky and my boys are with me, there and then, we will beat you,”
