The collapse of the bridge on the Asante Mampong-Ejura highway has left many commuters stranded, causing a massive gridlock on that stretch.
The road has been divided, making transportation difficult for drivers and passengers.

The incident which occurred on Friday, March 14,2025, at Sakaso, where the bridge collapsed, is rendering it a death trap.
According to an eyewitness account, many vehicles carrying food from Ejura to Asante Mampong and Kumasi or vice versa are stuck on either side of the road.
Commercial drivers and private drivers were forced to abandon their passengers at the end of the bridge, leaving them stranded.
Passengers are calling on the authorities and officials from the Ghana Highways Authority in the Ashanti Region to treat the issue as a national security matter and fix the bridge soon.
The current situation has caused widespread disruption, with many passengers left without alternative transportation options.
The caved-in bridge has raised serious concern about the state of infrastructure and the need for urgent repairs to prevent further disaster.
