Metro TV’s premises in North Ridge, Accra, were the scene of chaos on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024, when armed policemen and civilians reportedly attempted to disrupt a live broadcast.
The incident occurred during the station’s morning show, Good Morning Ghana, hosted by Randy Abbey. Abbey reported on air that the armed individuals tried to forcibly enter the studio and injured a security guard in the process.
“We do not know what it is for, but they were trying to forcibly enter the studio,” Abbey stated.
Guests on the show, including Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, and Dr. Richard Asante Yeboah, Executive Secretary of the Public Servants Housing Loan Scheme, witnessed the commotion. Pratt noted during the broadcast that the intruders were still attempting to gain access to the studio.
The situation prompted an abrupt break in the program.

TV3’s Noble Crosby Annan reported that police officers arrived at the scene to restore calm. Metro TV’s management is reportedly holding a crisis meeting to determine the motive behind the attack and outline steps for moving forward.
