CPP Unveils Bold ‘Women’s Manifesto’ Ahead of Elections

Accra, 16th November 2024 — The Convention People’s Party (CPP), led by presidential candidate Nana Frimpomaa Akosua Komankoma, has launched its ambitious “Women’s Manifesto” aimed at driving economic empowerment, social inclusion, and political reform in Ghana. The manifesto, unveiled during a packed event in Accra, lays out a vision to reclaim Ghana’s economic independence and address long-standing inequalities.

Nana Frimpomaa called the manifesto a “blueprint for a self-reliant Ghana,” focusing on reducing foreign dependency and empowering citizens. Key pillars of the manifesto include:

  1. Modernized Agriculture
The AgroSure initiative seeks to overhaul Ghana’s agricultural sector by transitioning to commercial farming and creating a cooperative economy for farmers, ensuring food security and reduced reliance on imports.
  2. Economic Empowerment
The GhanaBa Shares program promises a GH₵20,000 stake in national industries to 20 million citizens, aiming to democratize Ghana’s wealth and challenge foreign economic dominance.
  3. Local Governance
The manifesto proposes 40,000 “Government-at-Your-Doorstep” centers across polling stations, to make governance more accessible and responsive, with a focus on local issues and direct citizen engagement.
  4. Inclusivity
A commitment to reserve seats at governance centers for people with disabilities and provide free education up to the university level to promote equality and opportunity for all Ghanaians.
  5. Reclaiming Ghana’s Heritage
The CPP calls for the return of assets seized from the party during past political upheavals and proposes renaming the Jubilee House to Flagstaff House to honor Ghana’s history.

The manifesto launch saw support from diverse political figures, including Dr. Asiseh, an independent candidate, who withdrew from the presidential race to back Nana Frimpomaa, praising the CPP’s vision for Ghana’s future.
