The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has advised the public and cocoa farmers to disregard any news suggesting announcement on producer price of cocoa.
According to a statement released by COCOBOD on April 9, news about a decision on producer price cocoa is false as there are currently no Board of Directors in place to make such a crucial decision.

Also, per the regulations, COCOBOD says there should be a Producer Price Review Committee in place which will work out modalities for a new price but such committee is yet to be formed, hence no decision on producer price of cocoa has been taken.
“In view of the aforementioned reasons there is no way such an announcement can be made,” COCOBOD stated.
The Board urged the public and media to ignore unverified claims and await official communication through proper channels.
