The Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed its readiness for the Special Voting Exercise, scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, at 276 designated voting centers across Ghana. During a meeting with the National Security Task Force, chaired by the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo-Dampare, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa reassured the public that all necessary arrangements have been made for a smooth process.
In preparation for the general election on December 7, 2024, Jean Mensa reported that 95% of the ballot papers had already been distributed, and biometric verification machines are en route to district offices for further deployment on election day.

Ballot papers are scheduled for delivery on Tuesday, November 26, to the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions. Other areas are yet to receive their allocation.
The Special Voting Exercise allows specific registered voters, including journalists and security personnel, to cast their votes ahead of the general election due to their roles during the event.
