EC Dismisses Allegations of Collusion in 2024 Elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) has firmly denied claims of collusion with any political party to manipulate the upcoming December 7 general elections.

The accusations, made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), allege that the EC is collaborating with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to influence results, particularly in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking at a security symposium at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Dr. Serebuor Quaicoe, the EC’s Head of Training, dismissed the allegations as baseless. He assured the public of the Commission’s independence and commitment to upholding electoral integrity.

Dr. Quaicoe stated:

“There is no way an election in Ghana can be rigged. It can only be done with the collaboration of all stakeholders. At any point, the people and party agents are present to ensure transparency.”

He highlighted the robust systems and checks in place to prevent manipulation and emphasized that the EC remains steadfast in delivering a credible and transparent electoral process.

The Commission reassured Ghanaians of its unwavering focus on fairness and neutrality, urging all stakeholders to trust the electoral system.
