An elderly man, Nmei Sam, believed to be in his 80s, tragically lost his life in a fire that broke out in his home in the Sawla Sindaa electoral area of the Savannah Region on Saturday. The incident has left the local community in shock.
According to residents, Sam lived alone without electricity, leaving them puzzled as to the cause of the fire. Despite a swift response from local firefighters, they arrived on motorbikes and had to rely on water from nearby homes to combat the blaze, as the district’s fire truck has been out of service for the past month.
