This marks the third instance of hostility towards firefighters in the municipality, fueled by delays in emergency response times. Konongo Divisional Fire Service Commander, DOII Joe Bryden, disclosed that their fire tender has been nonfunctional for nearly two months, forcing them to rely on the Ejisu Fire Station for support.

“When we received the distress call, we could not act swiftly because our fire tender has been out of service for two months,” DOII Bryden explained.

Upon arrival, the Ejisu firefighters encountered irate residents, who expressed their frustration by pelting the fire tender with stones, causing significant damage, including shattered windshields and headlights.

This incident highlights the urgent need for better resources and public cooperation to ensure timely and effective emergency responses in the region.
