Former Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Board, Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, has been detained by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) at Kawukudi, near Nima in the Greater Accra Region.
The exact reasons for his detention remain undisclosed, and no official statement has been issued by the authorities.

Reports from Citi News and Joy News indicate that his arrest was unexpected, sparking concerns from his legal team.
In response, his lawyers have moved swiftly to secure his release. As of now, members of his legal team are at the NIB offices, engaging with officials to understand the circumstances of his detention and negotiate for his bail.
Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi previously served as Minister of Education and has held key government positions, including his role as PPA Board Chairman.
