Family of deceased Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III has revealed at a press briefing stating categorically that the late Queen Mother of the Ga State is yet to be buried. It would be recalled that somewhere 28/10/2023, the Ga Traditional Council held funeral rites for the queen mother who passed in December 2022, at the Kaneshie based Ga Mantse Palace. The event pulled people of higher repute from far and near and the general public to the Ga Mantse Palace along the Mantse Street, Accra.
Speaking on behalf of the family on Thursday, 08/08/2024, Asafoatse Nii Kotey Ga II refuted any claim of interment. “I say on authority, if anyone saw casket on the day (28/10/2023), it never contained the remains of Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III. In vain were rituals performed. Were wards presented as biological children of Naa Dedei, we are sorry, but that also not the case.
Everyone including the president of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was deceived”, he said.
The Asafoatse stressed body of the late queen is in their possession and shall communicate further information with the general public in due course. In the meantime, the interest of the family is to expose the falsehood that she’s been laid to rest.
The family said with extreme worry, that high profile individuals and institutions alike have been deceived including the media which played vital role as usual by way of reportage.

Head of family, Charles NII Kotey Kotey under whose command the press conference was held said emphatically that until he paves the way nobody can touch the corpse in question let alone, lay it to rest.
Also present resent at the meeting were two of the late queen mother’s sons, Prince Nii Teiko Tackie and Michael Nii Offei Danso. The duo confirmed their caring late mum’s remains remain at the morgue, and under the care and supervision of the family.
