Gadangme Pressure Groups Push President Akufo-Addo Over Closure of McDan’s Aviation

A coalition of Gadangme pressure groups have issued a threat to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government over the closure of McDan’s Aviation at Kotoka International Airport(K.I.A), Accra.

During a press conference at Bukom Park, Accra, the groups gave an ultimatum to President Akufo-Addo, who they claim is led by the Akyem Agyapadie Mafia, to allow McDan’s Aviation to resume operations by Sunday, January 5, 2025.

“If this demand is not met, after the swearing-in of President-elect John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, we will lock down Nana Addo’s residence in Nima. That will not be the end—we will ensure that Nana Addo and his family do not find peace on Ga land,” they warned.

The groups condemned the action as “satanic, impudent, and sacrilegious,” alleging that the President’s actions were intended to stir conflict between the incoming President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ga.

Nii Asafoakye Debrah, a Ga traditional chief, expressed his deep concern, calling it disturbing that the closure of McDan’s Aviation twice seemed to be linked to a hidden agenda described in the infamous Agyapadie book. In the book, on page 4, paragraph 3, line 5, it suggests that the Akyem Mafias have long aspired to take control of Kotoka International Airport.

He emphasized that McDan’s legitimate business stands as a significant obstacle to their plans. The narrative in the Agyapadie book indicates that K.I.A. workers resisted the Mafias’ efforts during President Akufo-Addo’s first term, but in his second term, they seemed more determined to push forward with their agenda, even as the President’s term nears its end.

He concluded by stating that McDan, unaware of the Mafias’ broader scheme, should not be hindered in his legitimate business. He encouraged McDan to continue defending his rights for the good of all Ghanaians.

Captain Nii Qwakwo IV urged said as indigents of the Ga-Dangme community, Dr. Daniel Mackole is their brother for that reason, his well-being is of great concern; that wise, they cannot stay unconcerned about the of halting his business activities especially when he commits no crime.
