Members of the Bar, who are now believed to have the benefit of the petitions and the responses of the Chief Justice were displeased with the import and tone of the earlier statement of the Ghana Bar Association dated April 24, 2025.

Members took turns to criticise the suspension of the Chief Justice based on the said petitions and the determination of a prima facie case and called for a constitutional instrument to guide the processes for the removal of Judges.

However, speaking in an interview on TV3 New Day’s Big Issue, Monday, April 28, 2025, Edudzi Tameklo averred that the President ‘s action is in accordance with the 1992 constitution, hence the call by the GBA will be a subvention of the constitution.

“This so-called resolution is of no use. In fact, I won’t say it is useless but its of no use, it’s of no moment. It has nothing to do as far as President Mahama is concerned. What has President Mahama done? Fidelity to the constitution.

“In terms of President Mahama’s conduct in holding on to the constitutional process is without blame,” Edudzi stated.

He added: “They want President Mahama to revoke or suspend the suspension, by what authority? You want President Mahama to do what the constitution does not say? So that the same Ghana Bar will now say that you have disobey the constitution contrary to the Presidential oath you have taken and for that matter, we are bringing impeachment process against you.”
