The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has firmly denied allegations circulating via a viral audio recording on social media, which claims improper use of military facilities for transporting ammunition.
In a press release issued on December 25, 2024, GAF dismissed the allegations as baseless and urged the public to disregard them.
Clarification of Events
The viral audio alleged that a civilian pickup truck entered the Magazine at the 5 Battalion of Infantry to transport boxes of ammunition to an undisclosed location. GAF clarified that the truck was actually delivering a newly acquired live cow, which was quarantined and later moved to a kraal near the Magazine.
Warning Against Misinformation
The Armed Forces cautioned against the spread of unverified information, emphasizing its potential to instigate tension, fear, and panic among citizens, particularly during sensitive periods.
“Such actions tend to create unnecessary tension and also cause fear and panic in the country, especially around this period,” the release stated.

GAF reassured the public of its commitment to transparency and national stability. Citizens with concerns were encouraged to reach out to its Department of Public Relations for accurate information.
