The Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohamed-Mubarak, has underscored the need for stakeholder collaboration and coordination to combat the proliferation of small arms and light weapons.
Alhaji Muntaka said that this collaboration will form a critical part of promoting peace and security in Ghana and the sub-region.

He said this after visiting the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons in Accra on Tuesday, February 25.
He also paid a working visit to the Ghana Immigration Service and the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons as part of his working tour.
At the GIS headquarters, he commended the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, and his team for their tireless efforts in securing Ghana’s borders.
Hon. Muntaka also acknowledged the challenges faced by GIS, including logistical constraints, and assured them of the Government’s commitment to retooling the Service to enhance their operations.
