Real Madrid face a mountainous task after their 3-0 defeat in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium last week, where Declan Rice scored two incredible two free-kicks followed by a fine finish from Mikel Merino.

But if there is one team in Europe who are capable of the unfathomable, it is Los Blancos, as they have proven time and time again in recent years of coming back from the brink of elimination.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Alaves in LaLiga. The goalscorer, Eduardo Camavinga, will not be available for Madrid tonight, however, due to suspension. But other than long term absentees like Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, there are no new concerns for Los Blancos.

Arsenal played out a drab 1-1 draw with Brentford on the weekend where Mikel Arteta decided to rest many of his stars. While Jorginho did pick up an injury in that game that will rule him out of Wednesday’s clash, Thomas Partey has travelled with the team despite a knock.

The atmosphere inside the Bernabeu is certain to be raucous, as they anticipate yet another famous comeback and while many feel this is a step too far, Ancelotti and his players are going into the game full of belief.

Gabriel’s injury has been a major blow to Arsenal of late but Kiwior has been exemplary since he stepped in. Other than the injury to Jorginho, there are no new concerns for Arteta. Partey stepped into the squad at the last minute and is expected to start.

Arsenal’s predicted line-up: Raya, Lewis-Skelly, Kiwior, Saliba, Timber, Rice, Partey, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Mikel Merino.

The right-back position is the biggest concern for Ancelotti, due to the long-term absence of Carvajal. That position is likely to be occupied by Lucas Vazquez, despite Fede Valverde having filled that role in recent times. Camavinga’s suspension could see the Uruguayan move back into his preferred position. Bellingham, Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicius are set to lead the attack.

Real Madrid’s predicted line-up: Courtois, Lucas Vazquez, Asencio, Rudiger, Fran Garcia, Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Rodrygo, Mbappe, Vinicius.

Kick-off in Real Madrid vs Arsenal is 21:00 CEST. That means fans in Britain and Ireland can tune in to watch at 20:00.
