Roblox game down as hundreds of fans hit by connection error

Hundreds of Roblox players have reported outages and connection errors.

Data on website Downdetector showed a huge spike in issues with the platform just after 10am. Many people have taken to social media to enquire if others have also been affected, with one gamer writing on X: “Anyone have Vodafone broadband and can’t load Roblox? It’s been down since this morning.”

Another person replied: “Yes same issue for us too. Hopefully fixed soon. Kids not happy.” People using Vodafone connections in particular have been reporting problems.

“That’s actually so intriguing how it’s only vodafone users,” read another comment on X. While a further said: “The Amazon websites are bugging and Roblox runs with Amazon. Vodafone had too much AWS servers open and fried their own AWS boards.”

While one gamer wrote: “Dear Roblox, I am absolutely FED UP with your garbage servers! How is it that in 2025, a multi-billion-dollar company still can’t keep its game running smoothly?

“Every single time I try to play, I get disconnected, experience insane lag, or get hit with the dreaded “Lost Connection to the Server” message. Are you seriously telling me you can’t afford to fix this nonsense?”

Roblox is a free online gaming platform where users build their own virtual worlds and they can play games they have created themselves or by others. Once you sign up, you can play an infinite number of games and chat with other users while appearing as in-game ‘avatars’.

“Every day millions of people come to Roblox to create, play and connect with each other in experiences built by our global community of creators,” it states on its website.

But it has also been criticised as a dangerous place for children due to exposure to inappropriate content. And there has also been concern over people being drawn into spending more money as if users want to to upgrade their avatar or get specific upgrades, they have to spent real money on Robux, the in-game currency.
