Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications, Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer has noted a stark difference between President Mahama’s administration and the previous NPP administration.
Speaking to Keminni Amanor on TV3’s Hot Issues, Sunday, March 2, 2025, Dr. Tanko asserted that while the seat of government, the Flagstaff House was made to appear like a ‘forbidden’ place, barring any access under Akufo-Addo’s administration, President Mahama’s governance has changed the narrative and perception.

According to Dr. Tanko-Computer, the Flagstaff House is like a “chief’s palace” now giving access to all Ghanaians irrespective of political affiliation.
He said President Mahama’s government has accorded much respect to Ghanaians than the previous administration.
“The difference is very clear. We respect everybody, we open up the place, we are even going to have independence celebration there. We have now made governance to look like chief’s palace, where every ordinary person can go there.
“Can’t you see what is going on there, very lovely. It’s not like those days you are passing there as if there are some military rulers who were sitting there, you can’t come near or some wild dogs are just hanging around there because they fear their own shadows.
“We (NDC) are not like that, things have changed,” he remarked.
The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC claimed that the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration did not respect Ghanaians and ruled the country with no accountability to citizens.
“They (NPP) thought they came through the barrel of gun. They were ruling the country as if they were in a military regime, they don’t care, you can go to hell.
“Some small cabal was just sitting at the Flagstaff House doing whatever they wanted to do and mess up the country,” he added.
