President Mahama in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended by Local Governance (Amendment) Act nominated Ebi Bright as Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for the Tema Metropolitan Assembly
The nomination was announced on April 23, 2025 in a letter signed by Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama and the Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim.

Abdulai Mahmud has also been appointed as DCE for Bole Bamboi in the Savannah Region, Masud Musah Ayaaba Thomas as DCE for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region.
28 other persons have been nominated for various districts in Greater Accra including Ignatius Godfred Dordoe as DCE for Shai Osudoku and Raphael Uriel Nartey for Kpone Katamanso.
