NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has promised to construct a bridge over the Afram River and improve road infrastructure in the Afram Plains if elected in the 2024 elections.

During a campaign visit to the area on November 21, Mr. Mahama highlighted the importance of Afram Plains as a key agricultural hub, pledging to address its infrastructural challenges.
Posting on Facebook, he stated, “Afram Plains is a food basket for our country. My administration will construct roads into the area and reactivate plans to build a bridge over the Afram River. We will also replace the broken-down pontoon linking Afram Plains North to Kpando in the Volta Region, which was commissioned under President Mills.”
Plans for Economic and Social Development
Mr. Mahama also outlined initiatives to boost local development, including the establishment of Farmer Services Centres, agro-processing factories, and essential health and education facilities.
