Minor Jaguar Driver Involved in Fatal East Legon Crash Discharged from Hospital

The 16-year-old driver, Elrad Salifu Amoako, involved in the fatal East Legon car crash on October 12, has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), according to a medical report.

Medical Report Reveals Driver’s Condition

The doctor’s note stated:

“He is currently mobilizing non-weight-bearing on his right leg. He was discharged on 28 October 2024 to be reviewed on O.P.D basis. He is currently not fit to be sent to the police station for interrogation. When he is done with treatment, I will inform you accordingly.”

Fatal Crash Claims Two Lives

On October 12, 2024, Elrad Salifu Amoako, driving a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20), collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by Joseph Ackah at Mensah Wood Street, East Legon. Both vehicles caught fire and were severely damaged, resulting in the deaths of two 12-year-old passengers, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh.

Police investigation indicated that:

  • Three of the five victims in the Acura vehicle were rescued
  • Two sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged
  • The driver of the Jaguar, Elrad Salifu Amoako, was also injured
