President of Mobile Money Advocacy Group(MoMAG), Edward Ofori Agyemang has shared how dear each member of the association is to leadership. He was addressing the media during its 7th anniversary in Accra where he said “without members there’ll be no association.”
In line with this, Mr. Agyemang admonished group members to desist from working under umbrellas since that expose them to security threats. He notes some operators could work deep into the night till 10:00pm and beyond. Being under an umbrella comes with safety and security issues and for that reason, he asked them to consider a seizable “container stalls.”
As part of the group’s social responsibilities, Mr. Agyemang gave a hint that MoMAG plans to finance a CHPS compound at Aflao in the Volta region to help with healthcare.
C.E.O. for Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Ing. Dr. Ken Ashigbey was the guest speaker at the event. He applauded members of the union and advised them to have a central platform through which any such attacks like fraud can be addressed. The communication expert said agencies such as the Cyber Security Authority exist to assist in providing security in areas like this. MoMAG and all others can take advantage of the opportunity for the welfare of members, he added.
The anniversary was held on the theme, celebrating progress: reflecting on milestones and charting the future
