On Monday, February 24, the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, lifted the curfews on Saboba and Bimbilla both in the Northern Region with immediate effect.

A statement by the Interior Ministry said that this has been necessitated by the genuine desire of the Chiefs and people of the area to sustain peace in the area as well as the improvement in the security situation in the area.
“Government continues to express its gratitude to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area and urges them to continue to resort to peaceful means in solving their problems,” the statement said.
The Minister has also lifted the curfews on Chereponi and Bunkpurugu both in the North East Region with immediate effect.
