The president, Nana Addo Dwankwah Akuffo-Addo emphasized the importance of substantial investment in education to enhance the nation’s human capital during the Presidential Media Briefing on foundational learning in Sub-Saharan Africa. The event was organized by Human Capital Africa (HCA).
In his address, President Akuffo Addo drew a comparison between Ghana and South Korea, highlighting the two countries’ shared histories of independence nearly 70 years ago. He pointed out that South Korea’s significant development is largely attributed to its unwavering commitment to human capital, a commitment that has yielded substantial rewards.

“Although Ghana and South Korea achieved independence around the same time, South Korea’s progress is evident due to its dedicated investment in human capital,” President Akuffo Addo stated. “Ghana’s education sector currently receives the largest portion of the national budget, underscoring the necessity of investing in human capital development.”
