The Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness, Peter Boamah Otokunor, has underscored the importance of the National Economic Dialogue held between March 3 and 4.
According to him, the objective was to build consensus on the way forward for Ghana’s sustainable development.

“We needed to understand the situation that we are in. We started calling for this National Economic Dialogue, they (previous government) laughed at us that we lack ideas that’s why we are calling for it. They said the same thing when we were going to Senchi {Royal Senchi Hotel}. What they fail to understand is that is that wisdom does not lie in one man’s head,” he said on the KeyPoints on March 8.
Mr Tokunor said, “it means if you want to go far, you go together, but if you want to go fast, you go alone. But you are likely to break down along the way.”
He noted that to a large extent, the aim of the event was achieved.
“I saw a genuine desire by the participants for economic transformation during the dialogue,” he said.
The National Economic Dialogue brought together key stakeholders for a discussion under the theme, ‘Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together.
