The national communications director for the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has stated, saying, his party is not one that anyone can intimidate. He was at the district capitol of Awutu Senya West-Awutu Breku, where some three members of the umbrella fraternity led by Cassius Larbie were denied bail on grounds that they had removed flyers of New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the district’s share of DRIP machines.

Cassius Larbie happen to be the communications officer for the NDC in Awutu Senya West. He was accused for removing the said stickers with two other party followers leading to their arrest. The court denied them bail when they appeared before it on Thursday, 12th September, 2024. On Monday, 16th September, they were granted a self recognizance bail.

Prior to the hearing, Sammy Gyamfi stormed the constituency to provide legal support to free his subordinate and the other party members. On gaining the much awaited bail, the outspoken national official engaged the press.

He described the arrest as unnecessary and said “no one can intimidate the NDC.
With him, the NPP only did this to scare off the NDC yet what has happened has rather strengthened Mr. Cassius Larbie and the rest to work hard to ensure victory for JDM as president and Madam Gizella as a retained MP Awutu Senya West.

Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui called on the NDC to tap lessons from what has happened and do all that it’ll take retain the seat. She was happy for the bail.

It is worthy of notice that the Awutu Senya West constituency since its creation has never had any MP retain seat. It’s only Hon. Hanna Serwaa Tetteh who who won it twice and that was not conservative. As the incumbent, Madam Gizella aim to break that jinx, Eugene Kofi Bentum Arhin(director of communications at the office of the president) pursue to reclaim the seat for NPP.
