The Institute for Energy Security (IES) echoed the urgency, calling on the new administration to prevent a potential recurrence of the infamous “dumsor” crisis. Concerns over the nation’s energy situation were previously raised by John Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, who disclosed that Ghana’s fuel reserves had dwindled to a critical five-hour supply.

Jinapor criticized the outgoing administration for its failure to maintain adequate fuel stock, leaving the new government to face an energy emergency.

President Mahama’s proactive stance underscores his administration’s priority to restore energy security. Stakeholders and citizens alike await decisive steps to ensure an uninterrupted power supply and rebuild public confidence.
