Agona Swedru, Central Region — In a shocking incident early Saturday morning, a robbery occurred at the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital, where a woman identified as M’abena was held at gunpoint and robbed of her mobile phone. The attack took place around 3:00 AM while M’abena was at the hospital with her mother and brother, Paa Kwasi, awaiting the arrival of her sister-in-law, Maame Yaa, who was in labor.

M’abena recounted her frightening experience, explaining that she initially mistook her assailant for a security guard due to his uniform. “I saw him loitering around the hospital premises, and he seemed to be moving from one ward to another,” she said. “I thought he was part of the night security team.”

The situation escalated when the robber approached M’abena from behind, brandishing a pistol and demanding her mobile phones. In a panic, she screamed for help, hoping to alert others in the facility. Despite her cries, the armed robber managed to flee the scene with one of her devices, an Infinix mobile phone.
